Taking place right before Max, the protagonist of Life is Strange, moved to Seattle, Farewell is all about the most important moment of the series; that point when Chloe had to lose her best friend (and not only). For that very reason, the original voice actresses have returned to give a farewell of their own, although, to be honest, the one doing Max really struggles with sounding like a young, 13-year-old girl, and kind of delivers a mediocre performance.

In terms of story and dialogue, this is certainly not one of the series' best. Then again, this is more slice-of-life-ish than usual, as, instead of high drama, for the most part it just follows the young teenage girls while they are being... young teenage girls. They talk, goof around, play like the kids that they still are, and so on. It's basically a look at the moments where their childhood began to end, making way for the harshness of adulthood.

Needless to say that this is the shortest episode in the franchise, as is to be expected from what's basically a bonus chapter... but, maybe, it is a bit shorter than what it should be. On the other hand, though, those who will explore Chloe's house will probably have the most fun, as it's full of mementos that delve a little deeper into the past of both characters - in fact, some of the best parts in here come straight from just plain looking around.

As far as choices go, there's only one that can be considered important, which is about when to tell Chloe the bad news. That is something that affects the ending of the DLC, but it would also be great if it had greater ramifications on the whole chapter. As an example, if Max does something in the first section where the girls clean up Chloe's room, then it won't really affect the dialogue sequences of the next section as much as it should. In conclusion: good bonus chapter, not good enough as a farewell.

Will fans enjoy Life is Strange: Before the Storm's Bonus Episode: Farewell episode? Without a single doubt, yes! However, for a chapter revolving around what is probably such a pivotal moment in the franchise's history, it's also kind of disappointing, as it's a bit too short, the drama is not as strong, and the choices at hand don't alter things that much. In fact, most of the fun will stem from snooping around, rather than everything else.
